They were both members of the senior formation team in the 1980’s
Joyce passed away in 2003 at the age of 80.
In Joyce’s eulogy, written by Norman, he remembers that being part of the formation team meant lots of nice hard training and late nights at Penge and going abroad to compete with the team.
He also remembers going to Salt Lake City, Utah and California, where he and Joyce won an individual event.
Everything in America is bigger and better… well bigger ! The trophies weighed a ton were almost as big as us and went as hand luggage on the plane.
Martin tells us his father passed away at 98½ in 2020. Norman danced at Len Goodman’s studio up until the age of 94 and his teachers say he was still an amazing dancer.
All of the items shown below have been passed to the Bishopsgate Institute in London where they will be added to the Peggy Spencer Collection there for everyone to enjoy.
